God claims the world as his.
Everything and everyone belong to him!
He’s the one who pushed back oceans to let the
dry ground appear, planting firm foundations for the earth.
Who, then, ascends into the presence of the Lord?
And who has the privilege of entering into God’s Holy Place?
Those who are clean—whose works and ways are pure,
whose hearts are true and sealed by the truth,
those who never deceive, whose words are sure.
They will receive the Lord’s blessing and righteousness
given by the Savior-God.
They will stand before God, for they seek the pleasure
of God’s face, the God of Jacob.
Psalms 24:1-4, 6 TPT
One that truly desires to know God will seek His face and His heart, and as this scripture says, “they seek the pleasure of God’s face.” So, what brings pleasure to the face of God? What pleases Him?
Faith is what pleases God, and “without faith, it’s impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him” (Hebrew 11:6 NASB) Also the prosperity of His servants brings God pleasure. “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” (Psalm 35:27 NKJV). God takes great pleasure in seeing us grow in holiness as He works in our hearts to make us more like Himself. “For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13 NASB) And God delights and takes pleasure in seeing us walk by faith as His grace empowers us. “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” (Psalm 37:23 NASB) God delights in lovingkindness, justice and righteousness, and in us knowing and understanding Him. “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for I delight in these things,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 9:23,24 NASB)
But above all these there is no doubt that God is more than pleased when we love Him and spend time with Him, and when we love and serve others. God IS LOVE, and love is what He delights and takes pleasure in seeing us show to Him through our worship and showing to others through our serving and kind deeds.
So fellow brothers or sisters, let us stand before God and seek the pleasure of His face. And as we do and as we behold Him in all His glory, we will be transformed into the image of His Son, Jesus, and be a light in the darkness of this world.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror
the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the
same image from glory to glory, just as by
the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV
