Title: Trusting God in the Waiting Season

By: Connie Harper

Life often brings us into seasons where we have to wait. Waiting for a new job. Waiting for healing. Waiting for a loved one to come to Christ. These in-between moments can be some of the hardest. But as believers, we can take comfort in the truth that God is not absent in the waiting He’s actively working.

God Works in the Wait

Isaiah 40:31 reminds us:"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Waiting doesn't mean nothing is happening. Often, God is preparing our hearts, shaping our character, and aligning circumstances in ways we can’t yet see. Think of Joseph, who waited years in prison before he stepped into his destiny. Or Abraham and Sarah, who waited decades for the promise of a child. Their waiting was not wasted and neither is yours.

Trust Over Anxiety

It’s easy to get anxious when things aren’t moving as fast as we’d like. But Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us:"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Instead of worrying, we’re invited to trust. To pray. To surrender. And to believe that God's timing is perfect even when it doesn’t match ours.

What Can We Do While We Wait?

  1. Stay rooted in the Word – Scripture reminds us of God’s promises.

  2. Keep praying – Stay in conversation with God. He listens.

  3. Serve others – Sometimes, the best way to grow is to give.

  4. Worship – Praise changes perspective. Worship lifts our eyes above the waiting.

Final Encouragement

You may not know how or when your situation will change, but you can trust the One who holds time in His hands. God sees you. He loves you. And He is working things out for your good even now.

Keep holding on. The wait won’t last forever. And when the promise comes, it will be worth every moment.
